Qualifications

The qualification requirement set out is provided by the governing body for tennis in the UK, but should you feel that a qualification you hold is equivalent to the one laid below, please e-mail Sports Leaders to let us know. The award itself is outlined below with a link to more information about gaining an instructors qualification. Although do not currently offer training for tennis, we always encourage people passionate about the sport to take up an instructors qualification as it's a great way to develop your skills and techniques.

Lawn Tennis Association Level 1 - As the UK governing body for tennis, the LTA has set up the level 1 coaching award to allow players to develop their knowledge, communication and organizational skills. With this award, staff members working at camp are able to assist and lead classes, helping kids to improve their range, movement on the court, observational skills and general enjoyment for tennis. As a requirement of the course, anybody taking part will already have completed a child protection course and be knowledgeable in the techniques and skills involved with working with children.
(More information on the LTA level 1 award can be found at www.lta.org.uk)
