Additional costs

Your additional costs can be broken down as follows.

Visa

To participate in the Camp Leaders program you must obtain a J1 Cultural Exchange Visitor visa to the USA. The US government requires everyone who applies for a US visa to attend an interview at the US Embassy/Consulate (in Australia this means going to Melbourne, Sydney or Perth) prior to departure.

There are two additional fees to be paid directly to the US Embassy. These fees are $157.20AUD ($131US) for your Application Fee (MRV Fee) and $126.00AUD for the Issuance Fee, these are subject to change.

National Police Check.

All participants are required to produce a current National Police Check produced by the Australian Federal Police. This form is valid for 6 months and will cost $36AUD (paid to the Australian Federal Police). You can get further information about this from the website http://www.afp.gov.au/business/criminal_history_checks

International Flight to the USA

Typically a return flight to New York is approximately $2000AUD, after taxes. Though you are welcome to shop around for the best possible deal, we will help you find that deal and will continue to look for and negotiate discounted fares on your behalf.
