Qualifications

The qualification requirement set out is provided by the governing body for water sports in the UK, but should you feel that a qualification you hold is equivalent to the one laid out, please e-mail Sports Leaders to let us know. The award itself is laid out below with a link for more information about gaining an instructors qualification. Although we do not currently offer training for water sports, we encourage people passionate about the sport to take up an instructors qualification as it's a great way to develop your skills and technique.

British Water Ski Standard Instructor - As with all of the qualifications used under the Sports Leaders banner, the Water Ski standard is based on the qualification provided by the UK's national governing body, British Water Ski. To achieve this standard, applicants will have obtained a basic first aid certificate, ski boat driver award and a minimum of 10 hours instructing experience. They'll be proficient in safe instruction and able to lead practical training on land and in the water.
