The qualification requirement set out is provided by the governing body for lacrosse in the UK, but should you feel that a qualification you hold is equivalent to the one laid out, please e-mail Sports Leaders to let us know. The award itself is outlined below with a link to more information about gaining an instructors qualification. Although we do not currently offer training for lacrosse, we encourage people passionate about the sport to take up an instructors qualification as it's a great way to develop your skills and techniques.
English Lacrosse Association Level 1 - All applicants coming onto the program as a lacrosse instructor must have the level 1 qualification as a minimum. The lacrosse award allows those who are enthusiastic about the sport to gain the skills and qualifications necessary to lead classes safely and effectively. Applicants going to camp with this qualification will have the ability to lead lacrosse teams of any age, providing the kids with a fun format for learning the sport. The course covers theories and practical exercises for developing classes for beginner to intermediate players. As part of the course, applicants will also obtain a Sports Coach UK award for 'Good Practice and Child Protection', a vital asset in coaching kids at camp.
