Summer Jobs with Camp Leaders

A summer at camp will provide you with many benefits which range from building your C.V. to providing you with a most fulfilling and enjoyable experience. You will receive three meals per day, accommodation and pocket money(payment). Your pocket money may be substantially more than this depending upon the program that you participate in, your experience and your relevant qualifications.

Camp counselling costs are expensive, but Camp Leaders endeavour to keep your costs to a minimum. The costs for your transatlantic flights, program administration and cultural exchange permits are loaned to applicants by Camp Leaders. Camp Leaders is then reimbursed by your camp upon successful completion of your contract. This means that you are responsible for only a fraction of the costs before you fly to the United States.

At the time of interview we ask you to bring along your commitment/initial fee. This covers your initial administration and interview costs. If you are accepted onto the Camp Leaders program your administration/visa processing fee is then payable (this is refundable if a placement is not found).

Once you have been placed at a camp there are certain mandated requirements that must be followed to ensure that your entry into, and time in America are both legal and safe. The U.S. embassy charges a fee for the required J1 visa (this fee is paid directly to the Embassy). Program regulations also require you to have comprehensive Medical Insurance for the duration of your stay. We will arrange this on your behalf. This is an extensive policy and also covers you for any travelling adventures in the U.S after camp.

Depending upon where you live and your personal circumstances, you may be able to apply for funding to assist with your up-front costs. We can explain more about this at your interview.
