First Timers Rates

Fees for summer 2008 are £349. This fee includes your initial commitment fee, a contribution to the visa processing fee and up to 4 months medical insurance. These are our most competitive rates ever...just take a look below at what you get:

What Do you get?

  • Transatlantic return flights to the international or regional airport nearest to your camp, thus eliminating the need for you to take a bus for long distances across country.
  • 3 meals per day for the duration of your camp contract.
  • Accommodation whilst at camp.
  • Pocket money for your time at camp. This will vary depending up on your role but we can guarantee that it will be a minimum of $920 for up to 9 weeks.
  • Time to travel the USA after Camp
  • Training and preparation for camp in the UK prior to departure and upon arrival at camp. (Attendance at a pre departure preparation day is a mandatory part of the program)
  • Camp Leaders Handbook
  • J1 visa and cultural exchange permits.
  • 24 hour support whilst in the USA.
  • A rewarding, fun and for some a life changing experience that employers recognise as valuable.
  • Once you have completed the summer you will receive a certificate recognising your participation on the program.

Other Costs?

The US government has introduced a system which requires everyone who applies for a visa to attend an interview prior to departure at the US Embassy/Consulate (in the UK this means going to London or Belfast). There is an additional fee for this to be paid directly to the US Embassy. This fee is $131 (approximately £63)

All participants are required to produce a current enhanced criminal background check as provided for by the Criminal Records Bureau. Many people will already have a check if they are currently working with children (whether paid or voluntary). If not we can assist with this, but if you do not have one there is a charge which is in the region of £35. You will get further information about this at your interview.

Assistance with your upfront costs

In the past some participants have had assistance with their costs from employers, from a voluntary club that they are associated with, from their local council or from a variety of other volunteer support schemes. It is well worth a approaching anyone who you think may be able to assist. After all, the skills and experience you can acquire from a summer at camp will help you to develop as an individual and offer a better service to others in the future.
