The last Leaders Online episode of the season 2009-2010! It's been great to give you all the information you might need to prepare for the summer adventure of your lifetime! In this episode we also give you some insight into post-camp travel with Trek America.
I can't believe all of this hard work is about to pay off! The guys have been putting the hours in (mostly out of hours too!) and it has come together fantastically. It's exciting stuff, and I'm glad our idea to really communicate what Camp Leaders is all about has been realized in such a beautiful way.
The idea was first floated last year; Chris Arnold was keen and before I knew it we were in full flow. Our Brand Designer, Tom, envisaged an interactive personal account of who we are and what we do, as well as providing a platform to help everyone on their way through the Camp Leaders experience. I think that is what has been achieved beyond anyone's expectations.
One of the key hurdles that Tom had to take on was to get this ball rolling alongside his full time job - well done! I know that he has been running between the script writing group, the 'Presenters' (Kim and David) and the production team. This is a result of your skills and dedication Tom!
The time in the studio has been a real laugh. David and Kim's (did you know Kim is ex-MTV??!!) on-screen rapport is great, and when some of those out-takes make it to Leaders Offline you'll see what I mean. With that in mind, it has clearly been a team effort with everyone else's contributions behind the scenes.
I caught up with David earlier, and boy was he happy to tell me his story! Writing has been something that he has been keen to break into for a while - he is naturally funny and is excited to be able to spread his wit. He does credit Jenny for getting the chocolate in though, and it's good to see he doesn't think he is running a one man show. In fact, I feel I should throw in a quick quote here:
"I implore you to watch me on Leaders Online, as soon you may have to pay to see me in the movies. Catch me while you can." Get you David!
Kim, Jenny, Mark Nicolson, Maria, Rob and Andy Whalley all contributed from Camp Leaders, thanks for the work guys, I'll focus on you guys with the next update.
The production team has been absolutely great. These guys are from Liverpool John Moores University and have all shown us great professionalism, devotion and skill. You made us feel like stars! Rob Powell, Amy Kate Burns, David Ellis, Benjamin Whitmore, Colin Robinson, Holly Pickering and Tony Lanigan, a big THANK YOU goes out to all of you.
Leaders Offline (as I am sure you have seen!) is a completely different story. To tell you the truth I know Mark has been a little nervous! I know that he has learned a lot and I'm looking forward to being able to put his new skills to work on the next Leaders Offline project. I hope that you will find it amusing at the very least! It is easy to sit and brainstorm, but when the camera starts rolling it is a very different situation. Over the coming weeks and months he is looking forward to honing his comedic instincts (!). I'm sure that between us all we can get a whole host of funny and informative ideas up and spread the camp word! If you have any ideas regarding Leaders Off Line, email us at offline@campleaders.com
That's it for today, I'll be back tomorrow. I'm looking forward to everyone's feedback, and fingers crossed for a smooth launch...
