The qualification requirement set out is provided by the governing body for basketball in the UK, but should you feel that a qualification you hold is equivalent to the one laid, please e-mail Sports Leaders to let us know. The award itself is outlined below with a link to more information about gaining an instructors qualification. Although we do not currently offer training for basketball, we encourage people passionate about the sport to take up an instructors qualification as it's a great way to develop your skills and techniques.

English Basketball Association Level 1 Coach - The level one coaching award for basketball covers areas such as child protection, the role of a coach, session planning, conducting a class and finally team and individual fundamentals. The knowledge gained from the course will allow the applicant to lead classes at camp, which will incorporate skills ranging from footwork, dribbling and shooting to individual offence, tactics and communication.
