Returning Participants
Camp Leaders want to look after those who have already been to camp and wish to return. We do this by offering great service, competitive fees and no fee to camp.
Get started with two simple steps:
- Login to your existing Camp Leaders account (or create an account if you are new to Camp Leaders). Select that you are a returnee for 2011 and complete/update your profile
- Contact your camp, agree a position for the summer, negotiate your salary directly with them and ask them for a contract. Upload the contract to your Camp Leaders profile
What You Pay
$450 NZD then NO fee to camp so you would keep your whole contracted amount.
You receive:
- 3 months medical insurance.
- DS 2019 form, which shows your eligibility for a J1 visa.
- SEVIS fee USD$35 (US Government tracking fee).
- Constant support before you leave, whilst at camp and on your travels after camp.

3rd Party Costs
Since you will be working in an environment with children and working in the USA there are rules and regulations that result in some additional costs as follows:
- US Embassy visa processing fee - You may be eligible to apply by post
- Medical Form - If you completed a medical form in 2010, please check with your camp to see if it is still valid for 2011
- Police check - You must obtain a new police check dated September 2010 or later
- Flights and US domestic transportation - You arrange and pay for this yourself as a returnee, so keep this in mind when negotiating your contract with camp

The Camp Leaders program is administered in conjunction with our US Department of State designated visa sponsor, Cultural Homestay International. During the period from May 1st until November 1st twenty four hour support is provided in the USA by Camp Leaders and Cultural Homestay International.
