Camp Leaders wants to look after those people who have already been to camp and share our passion for summer camp. We do this by offering great service and very competitive fees.
Two Simple Steps
- Login to your existing Camp Leaders account (or create an account if you are new to Camp Leaders), follow the links to apply as a returnee for Summer 2012 and complete application sections as required.
- Contact your camp, agree a position for the summer, negotiate your salary directly with them and ask them for a contract.
What You Pay!
You pay $395USD and will receive:
- DS 2019 form, which shows your eligibility for a J-1 visa.
- SEVIS fee paid on your behalf (US Government tracking fee required for all J-1 visa applicants).
- Up to 90 days of Medical insurance.
- Step-by-step guidance through your online Camp Leaders account.
- 24/7 support via our free emergency helpline whilst in the USA.
Third Party Costs
As you have already been to camp before, you should be familiar with most of these costs.
- US Embassy J-1 visa processing fee
- Medical Form Completion - If you completed a medical form in 2011, please check with your camp to see if it is still valid for 2012.
- Police check - You must obtain a new police check dated September 2011 or later.
- Flights and US domestic transportation - You arrange and pay for this yourself, so keep this in mind when negotiating your salary with camp.

The Camp Leaders program is administered in conjunction with our US Department of State designated visa sponsor, Cultural Homestay International. During the period from May 1st until November 1st twenty four hour support is provided in the USA by Camp Leaders and Cultural Homestay International.
