An exciting part of camp life, canoeing and kayaking can be the first chance for kids to experience paddling on the water, or it may be the opportunity to build on years of experience. As a canoeing instructor you'll never work with any group of kids that are exactly the same as the last and this will challenge you to bring great variety to your instructing techniques with every class you lead.

A large percentage of camps in America are based on or near a body of water, which means that sports, like canoeing, feature heavily in the daily schedule for the campers. Dependent on the camp you work at, your classes will range from teaching canoeing skills to the kids and playing games, to developing their abilities and leading trips or river expeditions. Whichever type of camp you work on this summer, it's going to be totally different to any instructing you've done in the UK and a fantastic extension to your coaching experience! And no matter what type of instructing you do, you're guaranteed to be taking part in every activity the camp that camp has to offer as well.
