Qualifications

To be eligible to receive the benefits of the Riding Leaders program, particpants must be qualified with the BHS (British Horse Society) Stage 1 award or Pony Club B Certificate. For those people who don't currently hold one of these awards, we've included links below to find out more information on the award as we always encourage people passionate about horse riding to take up new qualifications to help develop their interest and understanding of the sport.

Should you feel that you hold an equivalent qualification to the BHS or Pony Club awards then please contact us at sportsleaders@campleaders.com

BHS Stage 1 - As the national governing body in the UK for horse riding, the BHS awards are completed by every horse rider looking to advance through their ability levels. Stage 1 forms the foundation to the qualification ladder and provides its' applicants with the ability to work and coach around horses. Those who have completed the course will show proficiency in grooming, saddling, handling, health and safety, husbandary, shoeing, anatomy, horse behaviour and feeding.
(More information on the British Horse Society award can be found at www.bhs.org.uk)

Pony Club B Certificate - We recognise that many horse riders have been successful at completing the Pony Club certificates, which are also a great way for gaining basic understanding of horse and pony care and riding. In line with the agreement between the Pony Club and BHS we are asking for candidates to have the B Certificate, which gives a similar standard of knowledge to those who have passed the BHS tests.
