Soccer and football Jobs in America

Requirements; Get used to it being called soccer.

You know it's football, we know it's football, but you'll have endless conversations about soccer at summer camp in America.

Football is a universal language, and the explosion in popularity of the MLS has meant that soccer (we know) is played at all levels.

If you want to be able to inspire the next generation through your passion for the game, summer camp is the place to do it.

What is summer camp?

Simply put; it's the summer of a lifetime.

Camp is about 10 weeks of summer sun, unforgettable moments, and experiences that will shape your life.

You'll be involved with leading groups of campers in America, each of who look forward to their time at camp for the entire year.

It's a massive part of American culture, where campers get back to their 'home away from home'. They get to experience being out in nature, trying new activities, and creating their own core memories that will last forever.

You'll have the summer of a lifetime, as will the campers you help.

What's involved with teaching football at summer camp?

Helping others fall in love with the game.

For younger age groups, it's not about complicated drills or heavy fitness. It's about teamwork and enjoyment.

It takes just as much skill leading a group of campers into playing a sport they could potentially keep for the rest of their life as it does an intricate drill, so fun is the aim of the game.

Working with different age groups and abilities mean you'll be constantly adapting your approach to make each session work.

What football coaching experience do I need?

We will always put the right character over the right qualifications.

Even if you don't have a football-specific qualification or coaching badge, there's still a place for you teaching football at summer camp.

Some of the very best leaders are those who are passionate about an activity and want to make a difference.

If you can match that with your passion for football, we think you'd be a great role model at summer camp.

However, if you have done one of the following, be sure to include it on your application:

  • FA Level 2
  • Sports Coaching Level 2 Award
  • High quality players with strong playing experience
Build your CV.

Football coaching jobs FAQs

How can I apply to be a football coach at summer camp?

When starting your application you’ll be asked to select your top skills. Choose 'Football'. Go into detail about what you’re going to bring to the role, your skill level and if you’re already qualified. A camp director will then be able to assess if you’re a good fit and invite you to their camp.

How can I make my application stronger without any qualifications?

The best way to make your application stronger is to have the qualifications to back it up. Soccer coaching jobs in America are a fantastic way to spend the summer but also very competitive. If you are serious about coaching football in the USA then take a look at courses which may give you confidence and show your skill level.

How many children will I be coaching in one session?

Your football coaching job will see you teaching various campers divided by age group. These divisions can vary in skill level, but are usually made up of 10-13 campers. You’ll then be paired with an individual camper or a group, and don’t worry - you’ll be supported by your fellow counselors, who will act as volunteer football coaches.

Should I pack any equipment?

You'll have everything you need to carry out your job at camp, so anything you want to bring (maybe to show the kids), is just a bonus. More often than not, you’ll be working outside, so make sure you have the right clothing to complete your activity.

Don't miss out on a summer job as a football coach in America.
