Skateboarding Instructor Jobs

Are you?

Agile, energetic, focused, encouraging

Bonus qualifications

Skateboarding jobs in America require no qualifications. If you already skate for fun, you'll have a blast this summer helping kids learn to skate and working on new tricks in the skate park at camp.

Why should I teach skateboarding at summer camp in the USA?

Remember when you started in the skateboarding park, you found something you liked and were encouraged to take it further. This is what you can help the campers do too, help them love skateboarding like you do. Plus you can practice your own skills and you’ll be skateboarding all summer- you won’t get better than that.

The kids won’t have the highest level of skill so you’ll need to be encouraging and hopefully they can learn a few skills from you over the summer.

What does a skateboard instructor do?

Ollies, manuals, and kickflips, all summer long. If you love to skate, you'll love this role - you'll spend all summer out in the skate park, working on new tricks and helping your campers develop their skills. You'll teach hour-long sessions to groups of campers - some of whom will be total beginners, and others will be experienced skaters.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I apply for skateboarding jobs at summer camp?

Simple - start an application with Camp Leaders, and navigate to the skills section of your profile. From there, you'll be able to fill in up to 10 skills - so make sure to include skateboarding.

Do I get days off as a skateboarding instructor?

Of course! Camp is a lot of fun, but everyone needs time to recharge their batteries from time to time. Your days off will look different depending on which camp you get hired at. The best way to find out is to get your profile to the Ready to Hire stage. Once there, you'll be able to interview with Camp Directors, and ask them everything you want to know.

How can I make my skateboarding job application stronger?

First, grab your board and hit the local skate park! The more confident you are in your skating ability, the more likely you'll nail down a skateboarding instructor job at camp. Second, find a way to gain experience working with children - whether it's volunteering at a local school, or even teaching a kid in the neighborhood how to skate.

What should I bring?

Obviously, if you've got a favourite deck, you can bring it along. Camp should have all the equipment you need - including equipment for the counsellors and campers to use. They'll likely also have tools to maintain the boards - but it's always a good idea to ask your Camp Director during your interview.

Don't miss out on your ultimate skateboarding job in the USA.
