Returning to Camp

As a returner, expect more responsibility, familiar faces, and chances to support new staff. Camp Leaders offers full support during your return, and while the application is simpler, help is always available if you need it.

If you've been to camp before but not with Camp Leaders, create a new profile and contact us to switch to a returner application. The process is quick, but you’ll still need to submit three professional references as required by the U.S. Department of State.

Returner flights aren’t included, but we may help with booking in some countries; just ask us. Only book flights after receiving your visa, and make sure to arrive on or before your contract start date to avoid extra fees.

Returners typically earn more and negotiate pay directly with their Camp Director. Costs include the program fee, visa and SEVIS fees, police check, and flights. Support staff fees are slightly higher due to visa form costs.

You’re a returner if you’ve been to camp before and already have a placement. You can join Camp Leaders even if you used another agency previously. There are no visa limits for 2nd-year returners, but 3rd-year and beyond have limited visa availability.
